As you near the end of your Invisalign treatment, chances are that you'll be giving a some thought to what happens next. Here’s a little about what to expect once your treatment is complete.
Consider Teeth Whitening
Invisalign patients often choose to whiten their teeth after Invisalign treatment, to complete the look and highlight their straight new smile.

Retainers
The maintenance portion of your orthodontic treatment will begin once your Invisalign treatment is complete. Usually this means one thing: a retainer.
Following any type of orthodontic treatment, the teeth will not be as firmly set in the surrounding tissues as they once were. This is a direct result of the straightening process. In order to keep them from shifting back out of position, you will need to wear a retainer for awhile.
To begin you will probably have to wear your retainer full time. This gives your teeth an opportunity to settle into their new positions. After awhile you will likely be able to cut back to wearing your retainer part-time, such as only on certain days in a week, or just at night.
Dental Checkups
After your Invisalign treatment is complete you will still be visiting your dentist regularly for cleanings and checkups, but you’ll no longer have to attend the extra Invisalign-specific checkup appointments. That means that while we’ll still be seeing you regularly, it won’t be as frequent.
